Compassion

Bible says in Matthew 9:36' "when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion". What about me? Am I moved with just my needs or do I possess compassion? Have I become so engrossed in my own issues that the issues of others don't even enter my mind. Jesus help us, I don't want them to see me and say I like your Jesus but don't like you! Jesus was the Word made flesh, guess what I think that needs to apply to me, us also. We must become the Word made flesh..

Failures

We all have them, let's face the facts. I have learned the greatest lessons in life from my failures, more so then from success. Success is actually a bad teacher. I must own up to my short comings, repent when they happen and ask the Lord to show me what I can learn. To many times I feel like a failure and fall short. That is why we need not lean upon the arm of this flesh but rather follow after the spirit. Bible says to be carnally minded is death but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. (Rom 8:6) I must learn to trust Jesus in everything, especially my failures, and watch my spirit in the victories.

The core

Brett Clark wrote in an article that "the function of the position can never trump the purpose of the position". Wow how true, at the very core of what God called me to to is share the life changing gospel message to those in need. Many things in life become a distraction to the very purpose we live on this earth. I believe Jesus wants us to enjoy life, however first, life without Him is not living, and second life that doesn't share this fact is wasted life. The very core of what we must be is vessels Jesus can use to pour life into others by our words and deeds.

Possibilities

Where are you putting your trust? Your talents, your abilities, good looks, bank account, education, etc? With God all things are possible. God will take weak things and make it strong. The wisdom of this world is no match for the might Jesus. Don't discount God in your equation, believe that He can, and the possibilities are endless

Alarm clock

With school back in session, the daily routine is in full swing. I'm the one, who wakes everyone up and the lunch maker. I'm an early riser, so it's my job. Waking the youngest is much easier than waking up the oldest. My middle child is not so easy either. As a Pastor, God has put upon me the job of helping to wake up the church. Are the new babes easier to awake then the older saints? Not sure, but it's surly time to awaken out of sleep. Jesus is coming soon!! The alarm clock is ringing and getting louder. Don't push the snooze whatever you do, the bus to glory is coming...

Little by Little

Dt 7:22 And the LORD thy God will put out those nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee. We so want the Lord to do things for us sometimes quick and easy just like the popcorn in the microwave. Come on Jesus, let me just drive-thru and get a blessing from the windows of heaven. Not always so, rather most times never, but the slow process of little by little. Can you rest in the fact that He has the whole world in his hand, and that He knows exactly what He’s doing with you. Your task is obedience, submission and the watching of your attitude. He know how to complete the work He has begun in you, in His time, according to his will, not yours, little by little.

Oil change

Today I finally get an oil change for our van, 5000+ over. Way over, not good for the engine for sure. The bible talks about the dead flies in the anointing oil which causes the ointment to stink. Living off yesterday's blessing, yesterday's prayer, yesterday's breakthrough, etc. It's kind of like an oil change, the apothecary had to make some new anointing oil, because of the dead things. I'm going to stoop down and get under the hood of my heart and let Jesus change my oil today. Dead things have a way of getting in my heart without me realizing it sometimes. Give it a try today!!

Sounding of the Alarm

There is a great urgency in my spirit, it appears to be growing on a daily basis. The deception of wickedness is growing everyday. The church is being lulled asleep by the spirit of this world. Church it's time to wake up, child of God it's time to wake up. The alarm is being sounded in the spirit. Apostasy is growing, Jesus is the only way out. Get ready, get ready

You are, what you eat!

I’m not here to talk about proper physical dieting habits, or rebuke those double cheeseburger eaters. The double mocha java with extra whip cream drinkers can relax. However the saying is true, especially when it comes to our spirit. Statistics indicate that the average American will see over 9000 sexual situations on television per year, almost all of which will be illicit encounters. Will watching hundreds of hours of illicit sex, violent behavior, greed, crime and life without God effect us? Without a doubt it will and not in a good way. As Christians, do we fall into the same category or should we strive to be different? The Church is “the called out ones”, do we discipline ourselves to become separated from these dangerous “eating” habits or do we feel we can handle it? We must put off the “old things” and put on the “new things”, or we will, sooner or later, whether you want to believe it or not, become what we eat...

Why so hot?

These are the times that try men's souls. Taking Dickens word, the best of times and worst of times, this is how I feel sometimes in my walk with God. His word tells me in 2Th 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. This is a day to hold on to His word, His promises, His grace and mercy. His day is at Hand. He's coming back soon. God requires consecration, and this comes by trial, fire and refining. That is what refining is: to remove impurities and unwanted elements. Hold on child of God, He must work his plan for your life, and at times it requires a bit of fire.

Healthcare

In Mark 5:25-29 it reads "And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague." If we could press through and touch Jesus, we would be made whole. Don't look for the government to save you. Never could a man-made plan have everything in it to satisfy our essential human need. We all need Jesus, the master physician. In Mark chapter 2 it details the story of a man with palsy, being brought up to roof of the house where Jesus was. When Jesus say their faith, He said to the one sick with palsy, thy sins be forgiven thee. Jesus is truly more interested in our soul than our body. He can and will heal our body, but our soul is first priority. This world needs a Divine Healthcare Plan, I call it JESUS!

Growing in Grace

It states in II Peter 3:18 "But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever." I would never expect my new born child to clean up the table after themselves after they have eaten, however I do expect by 12 and 18 year old to. They have grown in the knowledge of the home expectations. Grace is not license to do whatever I want, rather it is there while I am learning about the King. The closer I draw near to Jesus and seek His face, the more I learn of Him and His Kingdom. The bible says to him that knows to do right and does it not, this is sin. I believe we are called to be a peculiar people, distinct, Not self-righteous, but separated from the world. As we get closer to the coming of the Lord, the things of this world should grow strangely dim, compared to the knowledge of his power and love. 2Co 6:17-18 "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty."

Testing your Metal

It says in Philippians 2:13 "For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure." Before the precious metal can be removed from the fire, all of the dross must be removed. The Lord Jesus knows what He is doing with you. Am I letting His will work in me, and allowing His good pleasure to flow through me? Don't despise the trials of fire, God is preparing the metal. All the dross of pride, lust, arrogance, self-will etc... needs to come off. Listen the the voice of the Lord, speaking into your spirit. He has you right were He needs to have you!!

Well done or Medium rare?

Jesus said in the parable of the talents in Mt 25:21 "His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord." Now I like my steak medium rare, however if I wanted it well done, it would have to be left in the fire longer. I think Jesus likes it well done, therefore I must be kept in the fire longer to get to well done. In Ps 66:10 it states, "For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried." Silver is tried in the crucible, under the watchful eye of the silversmith. Jesus allows the fires of life to burn, not to destroy us but to bring us to perfection, well done is what we are aiming for. Don't despise the fire, the Master is preparing it well done, the way He likes it..

Focus

There are winds of change blowing in our world today. Winds of resistance to all that is Godly and righteous, winds of family, financial and moral crisis blowing. However will all of that there is a great wind of the Spirit that the Lord Jesus is allowing to blow in our country. It's time to focus on the right wind, and not get swept away with fear, doubt and self-will. It's time to turn our heart fully to the Lord, and allow Him to be mighty in our lives. I believe there will be a break down in the world system, but the building back up of it, will not come from a new political party or world system, but rather from a loving God that has shown Himself mighty. Stay focused because we are destined to see a great Holy Ghost outpouring!!
